(LD50) Summitt Good Group
We're a new walking group in the Lake District aimed at younger walkers in their 20's and 30's.
Whether you're an experienced mountain walker or a complete novice - this is the friendly new walking group for you!
Walking is a great way to get fit, keep fit, meet new people and make friends in a relaxed environment. And all this whilst experiencing the majestic splendour of the mountains and valleys of the Lake District.
We have a large selection of walks catering for all levels of experience and stamina, from gentle strolls to energetic ridge walks requiring a good degree of fitness and stamina.
We have at least one walk organised every weekend (sometimes two!) and new members are always welcome to come along and get their boots dirty.
(CY03) Dumfries and District Group
The Dumfries & District Group organises walks to suit most tastes throughout the region and beyond. The new website: www.dumfriesramblers.org.uk
The core programme consists of day walks every fortnight on both Saturday and Sunday. These range from 6 to 12 miles and from Leisurely to Strenuous. Shorter evening walks are offered during the summer months.
In addition to the core programme there is a Half Day walk and a Pioneer walk every month. Half Day walks are generally in the morning and are 4 to 6 miles in length and usually Leisurely. Pioneer Walks are for the more adventurous as they will not have been recce'ed and they may be in an area new to the leader and so the route in consquence may change on the day.
The Group also has a number of social activities..
You are most welcome to join the Dumfries & District Group whatever sort of walker you are.
Please note that If you intend joining a walk at its start point you should advise the leader in advance - start points can change or there may be special parking arrangements.

Parties and a leader are dropped off en-route and these and the coaches then converge to some prearranged point where there usually time for a drink in a cafe or pub. The coaches return to Newcastle in the evenings.
